They cannot all be right, and the gap is not an accident. Every one of those numbers traces back to an agency that published a quotable price, usually its own. So here is the same question answered by someone who does the work rather than sells the package: what AI SEO actually costs in Malaysia in 2026, what the money buys, and when the premium prices are justified.

The short version: most Malaysian SMEs should pay RM1,500 to RM3,000 a month for SEO that includes AI search optimisation. Dedicated “AI SEO packages” run from around RM2,288 to RM10,000+ a month, and for a typical single-market SME, most of that premium pays for packaging, not extra work.

Two things stand out in that table. First, the same three letters, “AI SEO”, are priced anywhere from RM1,299 to RM10,000 a month depending on who is selling. Second, the highest numbers in circulation come from lists written by the agencies that charge them.

What are you actually paying for in an AI SEO package?

Strip the branding off any legitimate AI SEO service in Malaysia and you find six components. This is the honest anatomy:

  1. Technical foundation. Fast pages, clean crawl paths, correct indexing. AI crawlers read your HTML the same way Googlebot does. This is standard SEO work.
  2. Structured data and entity signals. Schema markup that tells machines exactly who you are, what you sell, and why you can be trusted. Standard SEO work since long before ChatGPT existed.
  3. Answer-first content. Pages structured so a machine can lift a clean, definitive answer: real questions as headings, the answer in the first sentence, specific numbers instead of vague claims. If none of those describe your business, the premium tier is probably packaging. A test I would apply to anyone, including me: ask the provider to show you one verifiable example of a client being cited by an AI engine. Not a screenshot that could be cropped from anything.
